Visit Cannes
Visit Cannes and you will be surprised! Discover de beautiful history of this ancient city and enjoy the weather and the surroundings. Driving inland, passing Park Zoologique (the famous zoo), you will enter the city of Cannes within an hour from Hotel Bloom. Did you know that Cannes has up to 75,000 inhabitatants and that the inhabitants are called "Cannoissen"? Read below what this orginally picturesque town also is known for.
Le Suquet
The oldest part of the city called Le Suquet, is the heart of Cannes. In the Middle Ages, Cannes was a small fishing village where people mainly lived from fishing. The Notre-Dame d'Espérance church can also be found in this district, as well as the Castre Museum. Up for a climb? Climb up the hill and find a beautiful castle at the top where you can enjoy the fantastic view. Now it has grown into a world famous city known for its beautiful sandy beaches and the annual Film Festival. Of course, this part of Cannes has nice shops and bistros with Provencal dishes for dining at sunset.
Cannes Film Festival
The world famous Film Festival which is held every year in May is held in Cannes. This year the 75th edition will take place between 17 and 28 May 2022. But where can you watch it? Visit the modern congestion center: Palais du Festivals. This is located on the old port of Cannes, on the sun-drenched French Riviera. This is easily accessible via the bridge that starts from the aforementioned Le Suquet
Relaxing on La Bocca beach
Prefer lazing in the sun? Go to La Bocca, this is a beautiful sandy beach. Ideal for families wanting a day out for a swim without the glimmer and shine of the Côte d'Azur. At this beach you can park for free, there are public showers, umbrellas and sunbeds (for rent). small side note: It is a challenge for the disabled and parents with a pram to enter the beach because of the high wall behind them, which only has a staircase attached to it. Young or old can't get bored on this beach, jet skis, pedal boats, bananas and/or pedal boats can be rented. Are the kids still bored? La Bocca is located near Aqualand Fréjus, a water paradise for young and old.
